Neuromuscular Therapy

Much of the pain we experience is directly related to the soft tissues—the muscles, tendons, fascia, and ligaments. When the body is out of alignment, certain muscles are shortened and contracted, contributing to the distortion. Other muscles are lengthened beyond their normal limit, actually weakening. Yet, when weight-bearing, these weakened muscles must contract very hard to keep the individual upright. Either group can complain loudly depending on the individual circumstance. In neuromuscular therapy, posture is evaluated to ascertain where the contributing imbalances lie. Individual muscles are then specifically targeted and treated to help restore balance.

Anna Stone is a licensed massage therapist who graduated from Southeastern School of Massage Therapy, in Charlotte NC 2002. She has devoted and practiced massage therapy for 8 ½ years in a variety of different settings and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Anna is an experienced massage therapist that has dealt with a variety of musculoskeletal dysfunctions and biomechanical dysfunctions of the body system. She has had success in the ability of healing others through assessing with neck, midback, lower back pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder, muscle dysfunction imbalances, and rehabilitation of specific muscle groups.

Anna is highly certified in Neuromuscular therapy as well as a variety of massage modalities such as: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Medical, Prenatal, Bamboo, Hot Stone, and Thai on the floor. She continues accordingly with her continuing education to help keep offering her clients the best services possible.
